Roger and Dianne have been
missionaries for more than twenty-five years in Europe and Latin America. They
met in Europe in 1971, when Roger was a missionary in France and Dianne was a
Bible courier behind the Iron Curtain. The Smallings have been involved with church-planting ministries in Ecuador and Mexico, and joined Mission to the World in 1991. Currently, the Smallings are involved in discipleship training and leadership development. They have created a training system to prepare leaders for ordination based on the high academic standards which accompany practical experience and mentoring in the Christian philosophy of church leadership. Dianne ministers to the wives of the ordination candidates to encourage their unique gifts in light of their husbands' call. Roger enjoys ventriloquism, playing chess, and writing. Dianne is an accomplished teacher and writer.
