Misión Mundial Lugares Lejanos is the Peruvian branch of World Missions Far Corners, Inc. The home base for Perú is in Iquitos but the work is on the rivers in the Amazon Basin. Misión Mundial Lugares Lejanos is a non-profit, interdenominational, Christian organization, dedicated to bringing the Gospel to the people on the rivers in Perú. In addition to meeting the spiritual needs of the people, this organization tries to meet the physical needs as well by providing food , clothing and medicines whenever possible.

The Amazon River work was started in Perú by Ralph Barber who joined World Missions Far Corners in 1963. He worked with the tribal people of the Ucayali and Tigre Rivers. He traveled by small boat to bring them the Good News of Salvation and was instrumental in starting sixteen churches. He left the field in 1991 because of failing health. He has since gone to be with the Lord, but he left a strong legacy of work among the river people of Perú.
