Project N.A.M.E.
Newspaper and Magazine Evangelism

In 1974 one of the greatest evangelism thrusts of all time was set in motion by World Missions Far Corners. Inserting gospel messages in newspapers and magazines. In cooperation with AMG International the gospel messages were sent throughout Malaysia. Two years later Project N.A.M.E. was set up in India. During 1979 and 1980 over five hundred thousand letters poured into our headquarters in India in response to the gospel messages. The messages were printed in 14 major languages.

For centuries believers have tried to satisfy the spiritual hunger of millions of people by distributing handfuls of spiritual food to isolated areas. A method grossly inadequate for the masses in Asia.

Newspaper and Magazine Evangelism is the best means to influence men in the masses. Each newspaper becomes a gospel tract and every newsboy or vendor becomes a gospel messenger. The incorruptible seed of the Word of God can be carried by the newspaper into almost every home in India at a cost far less than any other means of evangelism. It rolls off the presses in scores of languages and enters millions of homes and businesses daily. Our time is limited to reach the lost so it's important that we adopt a saturation strategy.

What are the advantages of Advangelism? It can be obtained by the reader at a reasonable price. It does not betray the reader's interest in the Gospel. It jumps over language barriers. It is not hindered by social or racial problems. It goes where the missionary has neither the time nor invitation to go. It enters the same home repeatedly in the same month and it does not arouse a psychological defense.

The messages inserted in the newspapers are prayerfully put into the words of the Holy Spirit's choosing that catch the reader's attention and convict of sin. They convince people to write to Far Corners' Headquarters. India's population is over 900 million, some think it is one billion! There are 179 distinct languages, 544 dialects and 14 major languages. Since our first message inserted in 1974 over four million have responde by letter. Two simple questions have motivated tens of thousands to respond. "Who is Jesus Christ?" and "Why do millions call him Savior?" Thousands have enrolled in correspondence Bible School. Project N.A.M.E. is cost-effective evangelism and amazingly fruitful!
