| We made a border trip
to renew our visas and to help Brian's mother move up to San Antonio.
God has been gracious to her by providing sufficient funds to replace
the initial down payment for her mobile home and locate her in a very
nice part of the city. Prayer Request #1 -
for her needs to continue being met concerning monthly payments for rent
and home.
We welcomed back four of our young people from Costa Rica where they attended an evangelistic conference with an emphasis on sharing one's faith. Needless to say all four came back with an infectious enthusiasm to teach our one hundred ten plus youth group. A church in Oklahoma sponsored three of our chosen kids. Prayer Request #2 - for our youth ministry as our goal is to enlist all 110 for full-time service and testimony. We were invited back to our old mission field, Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz where we served for thirteen years. We were asked to minister to a hurting church that had just gone through a division. Brian reached out to the men and youth while I ministered to the women. It is going to take a pastor with a real heart for the people to restore this hurting congregation. Prayer Request #3 - for the healing of this church. Brian is teaching Bible courses to junior high and high school kids in the Puebla Christian School. Our boys are in school, but I am still home schooling our daughter April who is in the fifth grade. Brian also ministers to a Bible study group on Wednesdays and teaches an Evangelism course on Fridays (he began with six and now has twenty). He recently organized a new group leadership with seven key young people we call "ambassadors." Their task is to organize, implement and maintain seven major areas needed to uphold the rest of the youth group: Prayer, Evangelism, Visitation, Finances, Discipleship, Promotion, Special Interest, and Sports. Praise God they are taking their tasks seriously! Two of our high schoolers are working with our junior high taking them out for a bite to eat, visiting with them, planning functions for them. Our son, Nathan, is a junior higher and he very much enjoys these activities. Twice they were taken to the mall in Puebla to witness and all returned excited about their experiences! Prayer Request #4 - for Brian's classes and my home schooling efforts. Include in your prayers these four remaining needs: Prayer Request #5 - for enough funds to purchase a scanner for our computer (approximately $200). Prayer Request #6 - for the increase in our monthly support ($300). Prayer Request #7 - for our Coatzacoalcos seminary and its students. Prayer Request #8 - for our seminary roofing (thirty-five-year-old asbestos and crumbling). Replacement cost will be about $5,000. God Bless You, Brian and Sandy Teachout |
